Himesh beats Shankar in decider match

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 03/March 2010

March 05 2010

Himesh Reshammiya’s team was fully geared for this match considering it was the decider of his fate in Music Ka Maha Muqquabla but once again destiny favoured him as he beat his tough competitor Shankar Mahadevan.

A source from the show says, “It was a thrilling match. Himesh’s team played two matches so far and unfortunately lost. On the other hand Shankar’s team is always considered a very strong team, as they won all matches against other captains. But Himesh’s Warriors were in full swing this time and they gave some good performances.”

The source continues, Raja, Aishwarya and Munawwar Ali from Himesh’s team performed while Shankar’s Rockstars Neeti Mohan, Sharib and Sanjeev Kumar played the match. Neeti’s was one of the most wonderful performances of the evening. She won the ‘singer of the evening’.

Himesh’s Warriors scored the highest and they survived in the competition. It was a do or die match for them. Out of four teams headed by Shankar, Himesh, Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal, two teams will reach the final next week as per public voting. The Sunday episode will see all the captains performing and appealing to vote for their respective teams. The finale of the show will be on March 13.

Himesh and Shaan’s emosanal attyachaar rules Maha Muqabla

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 02/February 2010

February 25 2010

This week, emotions run high in Music Ka Maha Muqabla as Himesh reiterates on why he insists on rehashing his hackneyed rozi roti aur barkat’ and later Shaan adds to the attyachaar’ by eating his words of hate rant against Shankar. All of this kiss-and-make up makes a great watch for the Holi special and here is the run-down

This week we will see the persuasive and emotional Himesh Reshammiya reveal that his family had been through many crises in the past. Hence, he always wants to see rozi roti aur barkat in the house of every budding singer so that he/she never sees the terrible days that his family had seen. One must say that this, though clichéd, is still definitely a noble thought.

Also, this week, Himesh’s father, Vipin Reshammiya, will make his presence felt at the sets of ‘Music Ka Maha Muqabla’ in order to support his son in his forthcoming Muqabla with ‘Shreya’s Superstars’. This will be a hugely emotional moment for the father and his son, as both will talk about their work and hardships in public. Himesh will divulge that his father took a backseat with respect to his career as, in those days; it was difficult for the father and his son to be in the same profession. Himesh will go on to say, Meri sirf shakal hai. Kaam inka hai (My face is only seen. The work is my father’s).For the first time, on record, Mr. Vipin Bhai will speak about how he was completely shattered after the death of his elder son. He will speak about how Himesh went up to him and said that he was always there for his parents. Surely, Himesh must have made his parents proud by that lovely gesture!

Himesh will sing the song Apne to Apne Hote Hai, as a tribute to his father. His motto will be to smile throughout the show as his father felt that Himesh rarely smiled. This will probably be the first time that the viewers will see Himesh break down. He will be teary-eyed while talking about the sacrifices that his father has made to make Himesh what he is today.

This week, the semifinal of Music Ka Maha Muqabla will also be a witness to the act of Shaan apologizing for his furious behavior in the episode of the previous week.

Shaan, who was very rude in the last episode with the judges and his opponent Shankar, will apologize gracefully by saying I take back the words that I uttered last week. Kuch zyaada hi ho gaya. Mein bahut gusse mein tha (A limit had been crossed. I was extremely angry). On his apology, Shankar will say, I thought that Shaan always smiles, even in anger. But last week, we witnessed his real anger.

Watch this moving drama, involving Himesh Reshammiya and his father, as well as Shaan’s expression of regret, on Music Ka Maha Muqabla on this Saturday, the 27th of February on Star Plus at 9pm.

Bachchan loves Radio

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 02/February 2010

February 04 2010

While in Rann Amitabh Bachchan shows the side effects of the booming media business, for his immediate next film Teen Patti the actor goes on to praise same booming business.

The actor released the music of Teen Patti on a radio channel and also praised the growing stature of radio as a mass media. “Radio is interesting as it helps promote the music in a great way. This is the medium which lets us listen to the latest music,” he says. “Radio has become so good that I don’t remember the last time I had takes CDs with me in the car. I listen to FM and that’s good enough!” he adds.

Now we are sure Himesh Reshammiya would have loved to hear that considering his last film was called Radio. Interestingly though Radio was submerged under the Paa tide which also released on the same day, December 3 2009.

Mohit Chauhan is a Shatir Khiladi says Himesh Reshammiya

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 02/February 2010

February 04 2010

Another week of “Music Ka Maha Muqabla’ and the captains are ready to spellbind the audience with their mesmerizing voice and a fiery competition. But our little birdie on the sets of “Music Ka Maha Muqabla’ noted something out of the ordinary, as singer Himesh Reshammiya looked nervous during the shoot.

Our insider informs, “This week the competition will be between Himesh and Mohit Chauhan’s Team and as Mohit’s team (Mohit Fighters) is already a master in the ring with a stupendous victory over Shankar Mahadevan’s Rockstars and Mika’s blasters earlier; Himesh is having second thoughts about competing with Mohit’s team. Himesh has openly accepted that Mohit can beat his team and had also given an explanation for his statement.”

“Himesh stated that Mohit is a very clever player (Shatir Khiladi) who can turn a defeated game into a victory and thus he is very much afraid to be his opponent.”

Who’s the special woman in Himesh’s life?

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 01/January 2010

January 28 2010

After his last film RADIO gave an average performance at the box-office, reportedly Himesh Reshammiya is re-drawing his whole strategy. Now, reports are that in order to tide over the current bad phase, the singer turned actor has some well wishers who are constantly giving him company and expressing their full support.

One of the names being associated with this close group is that of TV actress Sonia Kapoor. Reportedly, she is one of the special women in Himesh’s life and though it was earlier thought that the two are not on speaking terms, but latest reports nullify such claims.

Adds our source, “Sonia Kapoor is Himesh’s special friend. The two are constantly in touch with each other and for Himesh Sonia is one of the main support systems. Be it his films or personal life, the equation between Sonia and Himesh has always been a special thing even after reports that the two are not on talking terms anymore.”

Though, Himesh might be trying to bring back his charisma on the big screen, for the moment the actor can be happy for the fact that he has some of the most caring buddies in his life, who can help him tide over any bad phase in life.

Himesh irritates neighbours

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 01/January 2010

January 22 2010

We all may have a bit of narcissism in us, but when it threatens to become a social nuisance, it’s no longer funny.

Singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya had neighbours in his building, Oberoi Sky Heights at Lokhandwala, almost begging for mercy when he started playing songs from his flop film Radio right through the night at full volume.

Apparently just a few days before Radio released, Himesh, who stays on the 35th floor of B-Wing of Oberoi Sky Heights, would play the songs of the film from midnight to the early hours of the morning, on an everyday basis.

Worse, he would play the same song - Mann ka radio bajne de zara - irritating he neighbours even further. The brunt of the noise pollution was borne by the Jain family, which stays just below him on the 34th floor. Says a source from the building, “At times, we were not able to comprehend if Himesh was playing the song or singing it himself. He would sometimes play another song from the same film - as loudly - in the afternoon as well.”

After putting up with it for a few days, Mrs Jain and some of her friends who live in the same building, thought of writing an official letter of complaint, but later decided to just have a word with the building-in-charge instead.

But Himesh reportedly continued with his obsession of loudly playing Radio songs, much to the chagrin of the helpless neighbours. While Himesh denied the allegation, Mrs Mrs Jain told Mumbai Mirror, “The music coming from Himesh’s flat in the night was very disturbing.” Actor Sahil Khan, who stays on the 33rd floor also confirmed, “I heard there was a problem between the Jains and Himesh because of the loud music from Himesh’s flat.”

The midnight drama continued until Radio hit the theatres and sank. That must have awakened Himesh to the fact that perhaps people didn’t like the film and its music as much as he thought they would. A stunned silence ensued and Reshammiya’s neighbours finally breathed a sigh of relief.

War is hotting up on Music Ka Maha Muqqabla?

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 01/January 2010

January 17 2010

The war is hotting up on Amul Music Ka Maha Muqqabla. Who would have thought that some of the best voices in Bollywood would resort to bizarre practices to overcome the fear of losing a competition? All of India is watching to see how far the six captains will go to emerge victorious in this musical race.

From superstitious beliefs to blind faith, love to war, words to actions, the captains have left no stone unturned to capture votes and hearts! Lucky charms and mascots, famous siblings, developing crushes, mourning lost love, playing on sentiments, casting a slur on reputations the list of weapons in the arsenal of the captains is endless.

Shaan’s sudden transformation has thrown everyone off guard! The singer, who is unrecognisable in this new aggressive avatar, now insists on his lady luck, wife, Radhika’s presence at all his matches.

Mika Singh is nursing a wounded ego after facing two consecutive defeats and was even contemplating an exit from the show to save his starry reputation. However, he changed his mind and decided to stay back lest it affect his team’s morale. A recent episode saw him belt out some of his brother Daler Mehendi’s hit songs. Let’s see if his brother’s charm helps him get at least one badly needed win?

Shankar and Himesh in a battle

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 12/December 2009

December 27 2009

Shankar Mahadevan and Himmesh Reshammiya will be seen battling it out tonight on Amul Music Ka Maha Muqqabla.

The fight for supremacy that exists in Bollywood seems to have come to the small screen as well. The captains are leaving no stone unturned to woo the audience and non-performing captains to bag votes. While some are regaling the audience with their energetic performance, others are trying to impress them with their melodious tunes. Some of them have tried to strike an emotional connect by performing some emotional songs.

Shankar’s rendition of his composition Maa from TZP moved the audience and non-performing captains to tears. Along with a standing ovation, the other captains surrendered to the power of his performance and said that it was beyond their calibre to rate the legendary Shankar.

As the mercury soars, the other captains begin to feel the heat with the competition intensifying and the barometer of audience expectations rising with every performance. With the path to the top getting even more challenging, the titans need to gear up to dazzle with the best of their tunes. Watch out for this grand episode on Sunday, 9 pm, only on STAR Plus.

Kajraare packs a punch

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 12/December 2009

December 26 2009

What happens when Himesh Reshammiya, Pooja Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt join hands? Magic of sorts is created. That’s what their forthcoming film Kajraare does; it casts a spell not just by its story but also by its locations and music!

The film has garnered enough curiosity from the time its first look got revealed. And, because it’s a Himesh film, the expectations are naturally about music. However, instead of feeling jittery, the composer-cum-actor seems to be confident. “The music of Kajraare has a very folk and rustic feel to it,” says Himesh who’s just finished mixing its tracks. “Considering that it’s an out and out romantic film, the songs are also very soulful and melodious. There’s a lot of Sufism in the songs but blended beautifully with contemporary music.”

Kajraare happens to be the first Hindi film to be shot against the backdrop of Petra, the eighth wonder of the world. Sharing his experience about working at such an exotic place, Himesh says, “Shooting for Kajraare was a mammoth task as Pooja used locations which have never been exposed before and reaching these locations wasn’t easy. However, the setting and the story of the film was so inspiring that I really wanted to come up with path-breaking melodies. Kajraare has been a very satisfying experience for me, not only as a music composer but also as an actor. I am sure the film will find its place in the hearts of the audience.”

Himesh: He nose best

by FarRemixTkof_2007 in 12/December 2009

December 16 2009

Whatever it is that Himesh Reshammiya does (we are trying to figure that out), he manages to create a buzz. His Himesh Reshammiya which trade pundits predicted a quick death, has recovered costs even before its release. If there is a word that can describe Himesh’s style of being in buzz, it is yet to be discovered, but, the m an knows how to sell himself and does it well.

His career as a music director in Bollywood began with Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, a runaway hit starring Salman Khan and Kajol. Some time later, Reshammiya sang the title track in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, a stint which brought him both brickbats and bouquets. But, the strike had been made. The nasal twang earned him a hatke reputation and his track was a rage, across discotheques, autorickshaws and trucks! Even though there were those who made fun of him, Himesh was unperturbed. When his Aap Kaa Surroor - The Real Luv Story was released, the composer-turned-artiste-turned-actor flew down auto rickshaws to Germany to promote his movie and appreciate their contribution in adding to his popularity.

Reshammiya’s second movie Karzzzz, however, did miserably at the box-office and the multiple z’s and the booty shaking Urmila Matondkar in the song Tandoori Nights could do nothing to save it. There were ceaseless comparisons between Rishi Kapoor and Himesh and though his performance was found wanting, Himesh’s new look for the film, complete with a new hair style, minus the cap, became quite a hit in the not-so-urban areas.
Radio, his third release, is perhaps the only one that does not have a song in Reshammiya’s typical nasal croon. Questions have been abundant: did he have a vocal chord operation done? Or was he just putting up a high-pitched facade till now? Reshammiya has not taken the bait, but the movie has done brisk business between rumours of Reshammiya and the production house buying tickets in bulk to show good business.
Like him or loathe him, you cannot ignore Himesh. He is one of the les improbables, the likes of whom are supposed to make it to the art-sy movies, if at all. But this man croons to differ. He has made all the splash, seems to be going great guns, aiming to make it big in mainstream cinema. Whether he makes the cut, will only be seen once his upcoming flicks Kajraare and Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekkh Mudh Mudh Ke release, but one thing is for sure, Himesh can never be out of headlines.
